Sit with Me
Will you talk to me about the things that made you happy?
Will you talk about the things that made you sad?
Will you tell me what it was that made you smile?
Won’t you sit and talk with me for just a little while?
Will you tell me the things that satisfied you?
Explain all the things that life denied you.
You don’t miss the water till the well runs dry.
Won’t you sit and talk with me for just a little while?
Sit right down and sing a sad song with me.
You write the lyrics for the things I didn’t see.
Sing a tune to the moon - just me and my friend.
Will you watch a sunrise with me?
Sit right down and sing a sad song with me.
You write the lyrics for the things I didn’t see.
I have faith in you. Are you feeling it too?
There’s a sacred love that can’t be denied.
Come and sit with me for just a little while.
Come and sit with me for just a little while.

A Lot More Texas
I got a funny feeling that Nashville Tennessee wasn’t really meant for me.
I guess I’m leaving. I need a little more blue sky where hawks and doves fly.
It’s a State of being y’all, where the roads run forever but they brought us together.
Oh sweet thing. You were good to me, but I can’t tell who you want to be.
But my yellow rose - she always knows.
She always knows what’s best for me. Ohh Ohh
I need a lot more Texas and a little less Tennessee.
I guess I’m seeing… myself more clearer when I’m looking in the mirror.
It’s a little misleading cause I’m not ungrateful for the giants that you gave us.
I’m just saying , I hear another voice.
Oh sweet thing. You were good to me, but I can’t tell who you want to be.
But my yellow rose - she always knows.
She always knows what’s best for me. Ohh Ohh
I need a lot more Texas and a little less Tennessee.
I’ll miss Ol’ Smokey - you and Memphis too.
I hear a voice a calling, but sorry it ain’t you.

Did You Ever Think of Me
Stormy weather took you to a far and distant shore,
to a place you’d never been before.
Was a long way from heaven, but thought you’d opened its door.
Did you ever think of me?
The wind had stopped blowing and the moon had stopped glowing.
The shadow stopped moving on the wall.
When you were over the thrill and the night had grown still,
did you ever think of me?
Sweet dream can I keep you…in my mind but out of sight?
But I can’t hold a memory.
I can’t kiss a dream goodnight.
When the fog had finally lifted and you had a clear day,
did you ever think of me?
Sweet dream can I keep you…in my mind but out of sight?
But I can’t hold a memory.
I can’t kiss a dream goodnight.
When the fog finally lifted and you had a clear day,
you knew you couldn’t go on that way.
Did you think about home, or did you just want to stay?
Did you ever think of me?
Did you ever think of me?

Imaginary Friend
Hey there Mr. Bartender! Pour me a special friend.
Someone that I can talk to at the day’s lonely end.
Pour her beautiful and lonely. Yeah let this night begin,
so I can sit and drink with my imaginary friend.
Darlin’ you look so beautiful. I’m glad that you came here.
Never mind that guy laughing sayin’ I’m just talkin’ to my beer.
You look sad but pretty. You make my heartache mend.
Pour another round of drinks for me and my imaginary friend.
Can you tell the one about how everything worked out right?
Me and my imaginary friend - we’re having some fun tonight.
Thank you Mr. Bartender. Yeah, you poured me a fine one tonight.
She laughed at my jokes - even snuggled up close. I’d say she’s just right.
I think she may be a keeper. Oh I can’t let this night end.
She’s clinging to me like honey on bees - my sweet imaginary friend.
Can you tell the one about how everything worked out right?
Me and my imaginary friend - we’re having some fun tonight.
Well now Mr. Bartender! Yeah, you poured me a good one tonight.
She listened to me with a little sympathy. She’s one real sweet delight.
I thought that she was a keeper, but after last call came the end.
You stopped pouring me beer and she disappeared, my imaginary friend.
In a flash you were gone ‘fore I finished my song , my imaginary friend.
Imaginary friend…. Imaginary friend.

I See Blue
Here on the ocean splashin’ waves.
Sailing by islands on a beautiful day…
there was a warm breeze blowing… a smile on your face.
Playing on the beach, your hand in my hand…
no cares, no worries, your legs dusted with sand…
had a sandcastle morning. The waves washed it away.
I think of you and the ocean…. I can’t separate the two.
I just close my eyes and I see blue.
Those days on Padre… a magical time.
You looked so pretty… almost lost my mind.
The taste of salt air … the breeze in your hair.
Way down in Key West, the sea was so clear.
Wind through the palms, it was music to my ears.
We danced until dawn till the sun appeared.
I think of you and the ocean…. I can’t separate the two.
I just close my eyes and I see blue.
If you were gone, I’ve still got this song.
Cause all that I have to do, is close my eyes and I see blue.
I think of you and the ocean…. I can’t separate the two.
I just close my eyes and I see blue.

Fall In Your Arms
I been thinkn’ bout the day that I packed.
Headed out the driveway and I never looked back.
I was movin’ on… up and left my home.
Saw something shiny and it looked so nice.
Lord I didn’t know that there would be a price
that we would have to pay… that I’d regret it some day.
Counting all the years that I lost. Counting all the tears that it cost.
Hoping I can make up for the damage done.
Yes, I’m a humbled son of a gun.
So open arms come find me. Come steal this pain inside me,
and maybe then you’ll see that all I ever want to be…
is to come home and fall in your arms.
Tryin’ to find the road back to myself.
It’s hard to figure out just why I left,
but I’m headin’ home. Oh , I’ve been so alone.
I don’t know if you’ll recognize me.
The years were hard - I’m no sight to see.
But my sweet friend, maybe we can love again.
Maybe then you’ll see that all I ever want to be…
is to come home and fall in your arms.

Almost Made It Back Home
I made one last cattle drive to Kansas,
riding north on that Ol’ Chisolm Trail.
You said , “Honey don’t go, I’ll worry ‘bout you so.”
I kept my spurs on and I hit on up the trail.
The cattle drive was mighty long and dusty.
I tell you, it was a dry one that year.
The Kiowa stole five of my horses from me,
but losing horses was the least of my fears.
I was almost home. I was almost home.
Baby won’t you wait, I got there too late.
Oh Lord, I almost made it back home.
We finally reached our destination.
We got paid, hit the bars and felt no pain.
Late one night I had hell of a dream.
I heard you cry out my name.
I rode hard to get back to Texas.
It seemed forever … the minutes were like hours.
When I finally got there, I choked on my tears…
There was fresh dirt, a wooden cross, and fresh cut flowers.
I was almost home. I was almost home.
Baby won’t you wait, I got there too late.
Oh Lord, I almost made it back home.

It’s Just Me
It’s just me, if you hear a whisper in your ear.
If someone softly touched your hair,
but no one’s there, it’s just me.
It’s just you, if I see green eyes when I’m sound asleep.
If I can’t feel the ground underneath my feet,
and the memory’s sweet, it’s just you.
The world’s such a lovely place. Some things can’t be replaced.
Yeah, and I can name a few.
You’re the first one on my list of things I can’t resist.
Girl, I’ll always be there for you.
It’s just me, if you fell and someone caught your hand.
If you cried and no one understands,
Yeah, but one man can … It’s just me.
The world’s such a lovely place. Some things can’t be replaced.
Yeah, and I can name a few.
You’re the first one on my list of things I can’t resist.
Girl, I’ll always be there for you.
It’s just me, if I trust my luck and I take a chance.
If I’ve finally found real romance,
can I have this dance? It’s just me.
